Terms & Conditions of Counselling Services

1. Introduction

These Terms & Conditions govern the provision of counselling services by Sarah Farrag Counselling ("the Practice", "I", "me"). By booking or attending a counselling session, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Counselling Services

Counselling services are provided to support emotional wellbeing, personal development, and the exploration of personal, relational, or professional concerns. Counselling is not a substitute for emergency medical, psychiatric, or crisis services.

3. Appointments

Appointments may be booked through the website contact form, online scheduling system, email, or other agreed methods. Session length and frequency will be agreed between the counsellor and client.

4. Fees and Payment

The current fee for counselling services is 110CHF per session unless otherwise agreed via in person or email.

Payment is made by bank transfer, TWINT, online payment, or mail. Invoices must be paid within 7 days of the invoice date or before the next scheduled session, unless another arrangement has been agreed.

5. Cancellation and Missed Appointments

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours' notice.

  • Cancellations made with more than 24 hours' notice: no charge.

  • Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice: half session fee may be charged.

  • Missed appointments without notice ("no-shows"): the full session fee may be charged.

Exceptions may be considered in cases of illness, emergency, or exceptional circumstances.

6. Online Sessions

Online counselling sessions may be conducted using appropriate digital platforms.

Clients are responsible for:

  • Ensuring a private and confidential location for the session;

  • Using a secure internet connection where possible;

  • Joining the session at the agreed time.

While reasonable security measures are used, no online platform can guarantee absolute confidentiality.

7. Confidentiality

Everything discussed during counselling sessions is treated with respect and confidentiality.

Information shared during sessions will not be disclosed to third parties without your consent, except in limited circumstances where disclosure is required or permitted by Swiss law. These circumstances may include:

  • A serious and immediate risk of harm to yourself or another person;

  • Legal obligations imposed by Swiss authorities or courts;

  • Situations where disclosure is necessary to protect life or safety.

Whenever possible, any concerns regarding confidentiality will be discussed with you before information is shared.

8. Records and Data Protection

The Practice may maintain records necessary for the provision and administration of counselling services.

Personal data is processed in accordance with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

Details regarding data processing, retention, and client rights are set out in the Privacy Policy.

9. Communication

Email and other electronic communication may be used for appointment scheduling and administrative matters.

Sensitive counselling matters should generally be discussed during sessions rather than through email or messaging services.

Counselling may also be concluded when therapeutic goals have been met, when another service would better meet your needs, or where professional or ethical considerations require termination of services.

12. Limitation of Liability

Counselling aims to support wellbeing and personal development; however, specific outcomes cannot be guaranteed.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Practice's liability is limited to cases of unlawful intent or gross negligence.
